Found a job and accommodation!!!

Finally we got a job!!! It’s a waitress and handling out pamphlets kind of job, though we weren’t able to work everyday at least it is better than no job at all. Maybe need to find some other odd jobs to supplement the income. Or maybe can discuss with the boss and see if she is able to let us work more days or we can work out other alternatives.

For the accommodation, it is quite reasonable price, double bedroom lodging. Though we need to share the kitchen, the toilets, etc, at least we had some place of our own. The only downside of this accomodation is that there are so many small cockroaches in the kitchen... Gosh, it seems so dirty and I think the cockroaches are lured by the rubbishes that had been lying all over. Wen, think you will not be able to live in here or at least no go into the kitchen. Hahaha...

It can be quite a disaster when you are sharing a dorm, cos last Friday, there is some events happening in Wellington, such as Womad and some others. Then people are partying and coming back at various times in the middle of the night. The best part is that the dorm we are staying are beside the road, so you can heard all the commotion outside. How to sleep like that!!! But that is not all… Your roommates are getting drunk and hence, they will go to the toilet to puke, and I sleeping beside the door became the temporary doorman when someone forgot their keys. So we are so happy that we found the accomodation…

Okie, something to complain, hee, hee. If you are visiting Wellington, try not to stay in the hostel call something like “What’s in the City”. That’s the hostel that got dorm beside the road. Then it is a 12 bed dorm, so cramp and no space to put our luggage. Some more they do not have heater and you need to rent a duvet for NZ$3 a night. The shower facilities are only in level one for unisex and level two for ladies only, but we are staying in ground level and it is always out of soap. The most magnificent thing of all is that the window can dropped out one. So unsafe, but the maintenance can screw it back. After seeing the window it’s a bit no, no for us. Though it cost NZ$23 a night, but if you add the duvet in, you can stay at a better hostel with that rate. So sometimes, you pay more for the comfort and the facilities.

Am so glad we got out of there.
